The P/H newsletter

The clip report Twice a month.

Everything we learn running daily short-form for brands, creators and live sports, written down before we forget it: the hooks that held, the platform changes that moved numbers, the cuts that flopped and why.

2 emails a month 4 minute read No pitch One-click unsubscribe

Written by the people cutting the clips, not a content team guessing from the outside. If a tactic is in here, we ran it on a real account last month.

What lands in your inbox

Field notes, not industry takes

Short, specific, and built to be useful the same week you read it. Three things in every issue:

One clip, pulled apart

A cut that outran the rest of its batch, with the first frame, the caption, the retention curve and the reason we think it worked.

What changed this fortnight

Format, length and distribution shifts across TikTok, Reels, Shorts, X and LinkedIn, filtered down to the ones that actually change what you post.

Something you can steal

A hook pattern, a covers test, a posting cadence or a workflow we changed internally, written so your editor can run it tomorrow.

Inside a typical issue

Four minutes, four sections

Same shape every time, so you can skim the part you need and bin the rest without missing anything.

  1. 01

The teardown. One clip from the last two weeks, why it travelled, and the version of it that did not.

  2. 02

Platform desk. The handful of changes worth knowing about, in plain language, with what we are doing differently because of them.

  3. 03

Numbers we saw. Real retention, save and follow figures from accounts we run, so you have something to benchmark against.

  4. 04

One thing to try. A single change you can hand to whoever edits your clips this week.

01How often does it actually arrive?

Twice a month, on the first and third Tuesday. We would rather skip an issue than pad one, so if a fortnight was quiet you will hear from us less, not more.

02Is this going to turn into a sales sequence?

No. The newsletter is the newsletter. If you want to talk about your own footage, the call link is right there on every page, and we would rather you use it when you are ready than be chased into it.

03Who is it for?

People responsible for short-form output: marketing leads sitting on an archive, creators and streamers posting daily, sports and live rights teams, and agencies running clipping for clients.

04What do you do with my email?

Send you the newsletter. It is not sold, swapped or pushed into an ad audience, and one click on the unsubscribe link removes you and your data from the list.

Would rather skip ahead?

Send us one video and we will send back three clips, free. Twenty minutes on a call and you will see exactly what we would cut from your archive and where we would post it.
